I’ve been trying to get in shape and take good care of my body so I’ve been working out pretty heavily. With a trainer in a small group setting four times a week… reeking havoc on my body… But since I’ve been doing it a while it feels great!
To help with flexibility and elongating my muscles I’ve been trying to do stretches I learned while in ballet and ballroom dancing and last night I was using a Palates Resistance Band to help get a good stretch on my calf muscles.
So there I am, laying on the floor staring up at my foot which is looped in the resistance band and I’m pulling down on the band with all my might and I’m just getting a really great stretch and wa-push! The thing snaps down on me like nothing I’ve ever felt before and since I’m staring up at it my eyes are obviously open and so its like a giant rubber band has just snapped into my eyes!
I scream “my eyes my eyes” in utter terror and my fiance catapults himself out of bed rushing to my side only to find that I haven’t been shot but have just suffered from a Questionably Fabulous moment which we also call a classic AC moment.
We both start cracking up in laughter because of the ridiculous nature of the entire mishap… But I’m still holding both my hands over my face with tears streaming down my cheeks and having the darndest time opening my eyes…
No worries, I’m fine, fully recovered, no black eyes this morning or marks of any kind. Just the hysterical memory of the “wapush – my eye!”
