Refreshed
I think everyone has a certain place that they can go and just relax. For me its Virginia Beach, Chesapeake Bay Side.
I wrote a blog about it last year and I reread it when I got back – what a difference a year makes! Its hard to believe that literally so much has changed.
Last year I was beginning treatments to shrink a tumor that was threatening my fertility and preparing for surgery. Last year I was grappling with loneliness, I was single and was growing from learning about myself. Last year I was in the midst of a lot of internal growth and concentrating on making some good career choices.
This year I am completely healthy. This year, not only am I living on the west coast for the first time in my life, but I am engaged and planning a wedding weekend where friends and family will come from all parts of the country to celebrate my marriage to an unbelievable guy. This year I am surrounded by several new, but good friends and growing closer to my three best friends regardless of the distance between us. This year I started my website, planting a seed for a major career change into writing and am making huge strides towards following my dream. This year I am still in the midst of a lot of internal growth but am grateful that I am still learning and hope I always am.
If someone had told me, last year, when I was at Virginia Beach, that this was how my life was going to look a year from then – I would have accused them of some major drug use. It just wouldn’t have seemed plausible. This year while I was a the beach my fiance and I dreamed up some outlandish scenarios as to what our lives could look like next year, and we’re excited because realistically, anything is possible.
