Golfing is a gentleman’s sport. Right?
Recently my fiance went golfing with some of his buddies. They aren’t exactly what you’d call “good” golfers but are decent enough to play a round of 9 holes and have a lot of fun. The best part about these guys is that they completely are aware that they aren’t the best so they will often do the polite thing and offer to let those behind them play through.
This time, however, there were two guys behind then who definitely did not want to play through and had no patience what so ever.
No only did they hit their ball right at the guys while playing once, but they did it twice not yelling the required “FOUR” at all. Then, as they caught up to them on the final hole a fight nearly broke out between these two old golfers and my fiancé’s group of friends all in their late twenties.
I’m trying to picture this all in my mind… four 20-somethings versus two 40-somethings… All fighting over how fast to golf… And all playing at a public (and quite small) golf course. I know full well that there are a bunch of sand dunes at golf courses and all but when did these men regress to being 4 and playing in a sandbox fighting over whose toys were whose?
