Excuses Excuses
I want to apologize for not writing at all in several weeks… almost months. And I don’t mean to insinuate that I’m apologizing to you, the reader, because truthfully I owe it to myself.
When I started this blog it was for ME. I wrote on my MySpace page to get stuff out of my system and out into the universe. People started reading, they liked it, they wanted more. I created my own site and got excited about following my passion – writing, telling stories, making people laugh and think and relate and evolve all the while I was growing exponentially.
I stopped writing recently for several reasons. 1 – I got a new “real” job that I love and is more time consuming. 2 – My grandmother is near death, part of my grieving process is withdrawing from everything and everyone. 3 – I didn’t think I had any readers besides one of my best friends who did the graphic design of the site. And I was convinced that the only reason she was reading was because she’s uber supportive (thanks Brizooke).
Last night my fiancé and I saw some friends, who happen to be our wedding photographers. We were at a party at their studio and had a BLAST. Its reassuring to know that they will be much more like friends at the wedding than “employees”, the instant comfort with them was the main reason we hired them – they made us feel like ourselves and that is exactly who we want to be at our wedding.
What struck me as odd was that they asked about the blog – they said that they’d be reading the QF Dog blog and had missed it and then went on to compliment my story telling and humor… And then I realized that I missed it too. And all of a sudden I had no real reason to give them as to why there were no posts.
And then a few minutes ago Brooke emailed me and said “OK my love… I really miss your posts on your blog. No better time to start back up then today.
” And you know, she’s right. No better time. Thanks.
