Questionably Fabulous

Today we had our little holiday party at work.  We all were to get a $10 ornament and bring it in for the worst kind of gift exchange. 

Basically you all draw numbers, going in order someone opens a gift and as you go down the line, if you want to steal someone’s gift instead of open one on your turn you can.  I hate this because in times past when I’ve played I’ve always gotten really attached to what I get and then someone steals it and I hate that.  It’s the only child in me, I’m sure. 

I got a Starbuck’s ornament that looks like their holiday cups and also a $5 gift card, I thought this was a pretty good gift to get.  Other people brought really beautiful hand blown glass ornaments, or unique finds related to where we live (hand painted glass wine bottle ornament) etc.  Throughout the entire day whenever anyone opened up their gift people ooed and awed and plotted about stealing each ornament. 

I was 4^th in line and since it was so early in the game I opted to open a present rather than steal one of the three that were already opened.  I chose a box that was nicely wrapped in the French Country style, tied up with stringy straw and little pinecones glued on.

Yes, that is the price tag still on there, yes they are from Long’s Drugs, no they are not kinda cute in person. 

Seriously, what the heck did I do to deserve this?  The only thing I can come up with is that either a) I got this so I wouldn’t become attached to it, but seriously who was gunna steal this from me?  or b) its my company’s form of hazing the new girl.
